Behind the green and along two sides is a dense planting of trees.
These trees severely restrict air movement across the surface and block sunlight during the morning and early afternoon hours. The shading pattern is clearly illustrated during the early morning hours.
The severity of the shading problem was exacerbated with the construction of a large water tower on the east side of the green that completely blocked sunlight in the morning.
