The Green

Because of poor drainage and severe shade, the turf, (Figure 1.), on the green is thin and there is almost no grass (Figure 2.), in parts of the rough around the green.

The composition of the turf is predominently annual bluegrass. Physical examination of the turf profile revealed no thatch and very shallow rooting. Indications of damage from foot traffic and mowing equipment operation were evident over much of the green.

During a rainfall, puddles quickly form and are slow to dry up leaving the green essentially unplayable.
