Developing a Project Schedule

Project schedule essentials

About Project schedules

One of the important facets of an action plan is organizing the work to be performed. As some of the tasks to be performed may be sequentially dependent, you must complete certain tasks before you can initiate others. In any two-task sequence, the task that must be performed first is called the predecessor task, while the one that follows is the successor task. Also, the number of tasks that can be performed simultaneously (i.e., collateral tasks) is dependent on the amount of labor required for each task and the amount of labor available.

Microsoft Project is an very valuable tool for organizing tasks. It can also be used for critically evaluating a proposed project schedule and for making modifications in accordance with various scenarios.
