Ice Damage
Early spring usually signals a change to warmer weather, but the weather in late March, 2001, turned dramatically colder instead. Temperatures (in Fahrenheit, F), that had been in the 40s and 50s during the day and the 20s and 30s at night, suddenly dropped to 18F during the night of March 26th, then to 14F on the night of the 27th, causing all standing water from a 0.9-inch rain several days earlier to freeze.
