John Brighton has been the regional manager of Lawn Pro's Southwestern Michigan region for the past three years. Before being promoted to this position, he was one of the company's most successful branch managers; now, as regional manager, he is responsible for the operation of all nine branches within his region. Generally, the region is doing well by contemporary standards. Nearly all of the branches generated "good numbers" throughout the just-completed fiscal year; in fact, the only one that didn't was the Pontiac Branch. The numbers from Pontiac were anything but good. John is certain that the poor performance of this branch is related to the management style of the Branch Manager.
Study Materials:
One group will be assigned the responsibility for making a presentation containing the following elements:
A brief synopsis of the case description
A detailed analysis of the facts presented in the case description
A list of the issues emerging from the analysis
A broadly stated strategy for addressing the issues
A detailed action plan for implementing this strategy
This group should also prepare a report using the format that follows and submit
hard copies along with appropriate attachments to on the date shown in the course
schedule.
