Terry Wueschinski
Terry Wueschinski graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree
in Agronomy from Delaware Valley College in 1959. After graduation, Terry
worked as a member of the maintenance staff at the Outdoor Country Club.
This was his first experience on a golf course. Aspiring to advance his
career, Terry left the Outdoor Club to accept the assistant's position at
the Country Club of York. After being hired by the club president, Terry
reported to work and introduced himself to the superintendent. He was stunned
when the superintendent became flustered and quit. Shortly afterwards, Terry
was appointed to the superintendent's position. Despite his limited experience,
he learned that managing a golf course meant hard work--lots of it--and
learning as much as possible. He soon hired Dean Grove and Troy Krout as
assistants. Currently, he has a full-time crew of eight, including himself.
Total staff, includes part-time and seasonal help, numbers seventeen. A
positive development over the years is that nearly all of Terry's full-time
crew members have been with him for at least ten years.
