Ersatz Grass |
It didn't even look like real grass. More like a pool table. Uniform. Smooth. And clean. The players uniforms were not smeared with mud, despite the fact that it had been raining for nearly 30 minutes. Until the rain started, it was a fast game. During one break-away run, the back got up to incredible speed and maintained it all the way to the goal post. Now, with the rain, all of the players were having some difficulty maintaining their footing. During half time, the coach -- obviously pleased with the progress of the game and the condition of the field - turns to you and asks: "What do you think of our new artificial turf?"
