Situation

What a fascinating plant! Its long, scalloped leaves radiated from a single point in the turf. New, bright-yellow flowers emerged each day, then transformed into delicate white balls of parachute-like seeds. By the next day, the seeds disappeared in the wind leaving empty stalks to wither away. But this was not a desirable plant, not because it was unattractive, for dandelions are intrinsically beautiful plants, but because it grew where it was not wanted. It was a WEED.
