In temperate continental climates, there are 4 to 7 months in which the average temperature is 50° F or higher. These climates may be further characterized as having a summer dry season (s), a winter dry season (w) or no dry season (f).Winters are relatively severe while summers vary from relatively cool (b) to relatively warm (a). They typically occur on the east side of continents.
